Green tea can decrese depression!

Japanese researches has found that drinking green tea may lead to decrease of depression level. This positive green tea effect is linked with theanine - amino acid prsented in green tea.
By the way this antidepressant effect not associated with drinking of black tea or organic oolong tea. This is additional evidence that caffeine is not the cause here.

Home grown tea plantation

More and more of Assam fermers as well as other citizens start to growing tea instead of vegetables and fruits. For farmers growing tea leaves is a good stable income source. For others this is a modern trend.

Anyway Assam currently produces around 480 million kg of tea. Around 30 percent of this comes from small tea growers.

'More than 900,000 people are involved in the small tea growing business in Assam. Almost 250, 000 hectares of land is covered for such plantations. They contribute to 29 percent of the total tea produced by Assam, which is 14 percent of the total tea production of India,' the official added.

Hmmm, i think may be i will start some small tea garden too!
So, i will brew some good home grown tea from my mega green tea plantation very soon! :)

Green tea protects DNA from damage

Findings published in the British Journal of Nutrition say that drinking green tea every day for a month may protect against damage at a genetic levels, with benefits linked to the beverage’s antioxidant content.

This benefits are linked with polyphenols conained in green tea. The four primary polyphenols found in fresh tealeaves are epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), epigallocatechin, epicatechin gallate, and epicatechin.

By the way black tea (fermented green tea) loses most of its polyphenols during fermentation. 

Note: There are some green tea side effects linked with polyphenols and caffeine

Green tea - wash water from dried leaves :)

Who would’ve thought that drinking wash water from dried leaves could do so much for your health?

Did you guess that this phrase is about herbal green tea? Yes it is. However it's not very  precise.
Actually if you brew green tea right, then you  should initially wash the tea leaves by hot water.  Firstly this will actually wash leaves and secondly it allows caffeine from th egreen tea to to dissolve.So yu will get nice healthy cup of green tea!
